A Shoe Name

I have been rying to come up with a great designer shoe name that people would love to wear or buy. I am preparing to design beautiful designer look shoes but a 3-3 1/2" heel. The perfect look without the 4,5 or 6" heel. I really need a great name. I love names like PRADA, Dolce, Louboutin, Chanel,Versace and so on because these are great names Can you help me with some great suggestions?

    Yes, Brand Name for a Product should be short and catchy. But, after all, it is the quality of the product and how well you market it that will keep the name alive and successful !

    One Suggestions is to coin a name from your name and or surname or nick name.

    The following could be a few of suggestions :

    Mellis !

    Mellisalo !

    I like Pattini Dolci..but I will have to get used to Pattini because it sounds like a sandwich. Thanks Imfotana you are in the right direction.
    I''m going to look through the list that SteveByrneMarketing sent me and see If there is something there that may catch my eye.

    I think Kannan is onto something. Play with YOUR name for the brand. Think "Lissalo" or "Lissa Lo" or "Miss Liss," for example.

    Melissa, you absolutely need to go to your favorite domain registrar (moniker.com, godaddy.com, etc.) and see if the brand names you like are available. In my experience, even .com names that are registered but still unused (i.e., no website) can command a few thousand dollars to purchase. Unless you have a big fat bank account, don't bother with those.

    Like all new businesses, you have a challenge! A unique brand name that is short, spellable, memorable, as well as available in the .com galaxy.

    p.s. Domain registration is CHEAP. If you find some you think you might use, grab them for one year. When you decide which name/domain rings your chimes, register it for at least five years!

    Word on the Search Engine Marketing street is that Google, Yahoo, Bing & co. give more oomph to sites that have long-term domain ownership.

    Don't quote me on that, though. My expertise is in webinars. ;]

    Great names are great because they are associated with great brands. The names PRADA, Dolce, Louboutin, Chanel, Versace, etc. were not "great names" before they became great brands. There's nothing inherent in any of them that made them "great names" first.

    So the message is that you should focus first on what will make your shoes a great (and distinctive) brand, and worry later about what name you choose. If the shoes are as terrific as the names you've cited, your brand -- with appropriate marketing support -- will find its place on the list of great names too.
